What the number means

Business Valuation combines 22% margin with 18% growth. Growth quality and owner independence will determine whether a real buyer accepts the modeled range.

3

Decision dashboard

Useful information derived from your inputs—not generic filler.

Implied revenue multiple1.25×

Modeled value divided by annual revenue.

Operating quality90/100

Directional score from margin and growth.

Value per month$125,316

Enterprise value expressed as a monthly equivalent.

DECISION CONFIDENCE70/100

The result is useful for planning; verify the most sensitive input before committing.

YOUR THREE-STEP PLAN
  1. Validate the key driver. Recheck annual revenue because it has the strongest modeled influence.
  2. Protect the downside. Confirm that the conservative result remains acceptable before committing resources.
  3. Set a review point. Recalculate over the next 12 months or sooner if a core assumption changes by more than 10%.

Model assumptions

  • The company is a going concern.
  • Revenue and margin inputs are normalized.
  • Debt, excess cash, tax, and deal costs are excluded.

Main limitation

The estimate excludes debt, excess cash, tax, working-capital adjustments, and deal terms.

Using a calculator

How to choose inputs, scenarios, and a practical next step.

How should I choose between the three scenarios?

Use Conservative when the decision is difficult to reverse, cash is limited, or several inputs are uncertain. Balanced is the most useful planning case when the inputs come from reasonably current records. Ambitious is a stretch case for testing upside—not a promise. A strong decision should remain acceptable in the conservative case and still have a realistic path toward the balanced case.

Why does DeciCalc ask about confidence and time horizon?

A mathematically correct result can still be weak if the inputs are guesses or the decision date is far away. The confidence choice tells the report how strongly to frame its conclusion. The time horizon changes the review guidance so a visitor knows when the estimate should be recalculated. These choices add decision context without pretending to change the underlying arithmetic.

What should I do when one input changes the answer dramatically?

Treat that sensitivity as the main research priority. Verify the source, compare it with a second source, and test a realistic downside value. A highly sensitive result is not automatically useless—it tells you where uncertainty is concentrated. The decision dashboard identifies the strongest modeled driver so you can improve the estimate before spending money or making a difficult-to-reverse commitment.

Accuracy and methodology

What the result represents—and what it cannot know.

How reliable are DeciCalc results?

The arithmetic is deterministic: the same inputs produce the same result. Reliability therefore depends mainly on whether the selected model fits the decision and whether the inputs are current, complete, and consistently defined. DeciCalc improves planning by showing assumptions, scenarios, sensitivity, and limitations, but it cannot verify private records or predict markets. High-impact decisions should be checked with a qualified professional.

Does DeciCalc use live prices, laws, tax rules, or market data?

Not unless a calculator explicitly says that it does. Most tools use the numbers entered by the visitor so the result remains transparent and reproducible. Prices, regulations, interest rates, tax rules, and benchmarks can change quickly; visitors should use current authoritative sources for those inputs. A calculator page never implies that a sample value is a live quote or official rule.

Are all 1,247 calculators completely different formulas?

No, and DeciCalc is transparent about that. The library uses twelve documented model families—such as return on investment, margin, break-even, growth, pricing, and valuation—adapted to different decisions and industries. Shared arithmetic is useful when the underlying relationship is the same. Flagship calculators receive dedicated explanations, limitations, examples, and frequently asked questions instead of pretending every title requires a new formula.

Privacy and saved decisions

How calculator data behaves in the browser.

Does DeciCalc store the numbers I enter?

Core calculations run in the browser. DeciCalc does not require an account or intentionally send calculator inputs to a profile database. If Save Decision is used, the browser stores the case locally on that device. Clearing the site’s browser storage removes saved decisions. Hosting and security providers may still process ordinary technical request data such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and timestamps.

Can another visitor see my saved calculations?

Not through DeciCalc’s local Save feature. A saved case is associated with the browser storage on the device where it was created, not a public account. A person can see the inputs only if they have access to that device and browser profile, or if you deliberately send them a generated share link. Avoid sharing sensitive business or household information through public channels.

What happens when I copy a share link?

The calculator identifier, numeric inputs, scenario stance, confidence choice, and time horizon are placed in the URL. Anyone with that link can reproduce the case, so it should not be treated as a private or encrypted document. The share feature is useful for collaboration, but visitors should remove confidential figures or use a secure communication method when the numbers are sensitive.

Editorial standards and advertising

How free access is kept separate from the answer.

Can an advertiser pay to change a result or recommendation?

No. Advertisers cannot select formulas, scenario values, decision signals, rankings, recommendations, or correction outcomes. Advertising may eventually fund free access, but it must remain visually and editorially separate from calculator controls and results. Any sponsored or affiliate relationship will be disclosed near the relevant content rather than hidden inside the calculation.

Does DeciCalc currently provide individualized professional advice?

No. Results and explanations are educational planning aids. They do not create an adviser-client relationship and are not legal, tax, medical, lending, accounting, valuation, or investment advice. A short calculator cannot evaluate every contract term, jurisdiction, financial record, market condition, or personal circumstance. Use it to structure questions and scenarios before seeking qualified advice for high-impact decisions.

How are formulas and explanations reviewed?

Each tool maps to a named formula family with labeled units, example values, output formatting, and visible assumptions. Flagship tools receive dedicated methodology pages covering interpretation, common mistakes, and limitations. Correction reports are reviewed using reproducible inputs. Material errors take priority over stylistic changes, and advertising relationships do not influence whether a correction is made.
